Our Pastor
Pastor Omar Ellison is the Pastor of Salt & Light Covenant Church, formally, Salt & Light Ministries.
The ministry was founded upon the Word of God, under the leadership of the late Prophetess Marilyn Gunn, Pastor Ellison’s mother. After her passing in March 2013, Pastor Ellison transitioned into the role of Senior Pastor. He is a firm believer in the authenticity of the word of God and continues to build on the foundation that was laid, by continuing to teach the Word of our Living God.
Pastor Ellison is an anointed servant of God who loves the word of God and is dedicated to sharing it in ways that make it applicable to our everyday walk with Jesus Christ. He has a heart for the people and actively teaches and delivers the word with temperance and patience.
Pastor Ellison believes the most important thing a person can ever do is to develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the only way to truly do so is through studying and understanding His word.
Pastor Ellison is a devoted husband and father, and his greatest joy comes from being married to Lady Chantel Ellison and raising their son Caleb.
The deep commitment he displays to his family is progressively replicated in the portrayal of his love for his church family. Pastor Ellison holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology from Florida State and is an Army Veteran who was honorably discharged in 2007.
He enjoys counseling and has a calm, warm, and confident persona.
These attributes together with his knowledge of the word, are inspiring, and he is often able to help adjust the perspective of individuals both in their personal as well as their spiritual life.
